ACRONYM

Vivaldi “Four Seasons” and other Italian surprises

Acronym

“animated…first class…”  — Philadelphia Inquirer

These gutsy Troubadours seem more like a contemporary music group than a Baroque string band, so don’t expect to hear anything stiff or artificial. Their sound is luxurious, their interpretations are expressive and warm and loaded with rhythmic surprises and unforgettable melodies.

Concert time and Venue: 8 PM, First Presbyterian Church, 1604 Arendell St., Morehead City, NC

Listen: Hear Acronym perform sonatas by Giovanni Valentini and Samuel Capricornus. (If viewing this web page over a cellular connection, be aware that each of the following audio files is approximately 7.5 MB; you may prefer to connect via WiFi before playing these audio files.)

VALENTINI Sonata a5 in G Minor

CAPRICORNUS Sonata a8 in A Minor

Note: Wait for the first audio file to finish playing (or click the Pause button) before clicking the Play button for the second audio file. Otherwise, you'll hear music from the second file playing on top of the first.
