History Place Violist Jonathan Bagg joins the Carolina Piano Trio to offer this musical “Paprikash” featuring Hungarian folk tunes, delights and dances from Dohnanyi and Bartok. A dash of Hungarian gypsy dance music integrated by Brahms into his famous Piano Quartet in G minor closes the evening with gusto. Also on the program: Dohnányi's String Serenade and Folktunes from Bartok.

Lauded for their “great sensitivity and brilliance,” the Kontras Quartet is rapidly becoming one of the most vibrant young string quartets on the scene, and is the current Resident Quartet with the Western Piedmont Symphony in Hickory.
