Calidore String Quartet

“A miracle of unified thought…”  — La Presse, Montreal

The mature depth and sheer beauty of Calidore’s perfectly matched strings instantly captivates audiences. This award-winning foursome joins Barbara McKenzie for the passionate Brahms Piano Quintet, the first quartet from Beethoven, Op. 18 No. 1 and a precocious Mendelssohn Quartet in A minor, Op. 13.

Magnolia Baroque Ensemble


Nan Cullman Memorial Concert

The Magnolia Baroque Ensemble assembles some of the country’s most exciting performers, drawing on the Oberlin Conservatory, Vivaldi Project, DC’s Handel Baroque Orchestra and NCSA artist faculty. This evening’s all-Bach concert features the exciting Cantata No. 51 for baroque trumpet and soprano, the exquisite B minor Suite No. 2, a trio sonata and one of the Brandenburg concertos.

Enso Quartet

Grammy-nominated Enso String Quartet has been described by Classical Voice as “one of the eminent string quartets of our era.” Receiving rave reviews and winning top prizes in several international quartet competitions (including Banff and Concert Artist Guild), they occupy the front rank of young string ensembles. Enso’s AMF performance will feature Beethoven’s String Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 74 (“Harp”), Webern’s Six Bagatelles, Op. 9, Ginastera’s String Quartet No. 2, Op. 26 to celebrate the Argentine composer’s 100th Anniversary and the lovely Italian Serenade for String Quartet by Hugo Wolf.
